On The Market

Sarah and I have recently decided to start looking at homes. We've rented for nearly a year and our contract is up this April. The goal is to get a pre-approval on a mortgage and then put an offer on a home we like. We've enlisted the help of a Caldwell Banker agent who has thus far been very helpful. On Tuesday we'll be going to take a look at 5-7 homes. Wish us luck.

Last weekend we went up to Iowa again to visit some of Sarah's family in Des Moines. Had a new baby in the family. We didn't head straight to Des Moines though, we went a little out of the way to visit Sarah's brother in Iowa City. Had a good time, gotta see my sisters old college (University of Iowa) and also go to an older bar that she used to hang out at. Kind of made me miss her, considering she's in Portland Oregon now and it was strange not having her be there with us when every other time I've been there was to visit her.

On the way back to Des Moines we decided to go to an outlet mall. I'm not normally excited about outlet malls, but I've been to this one before and knew that there were some good stores. Ended up buying a new watch from the Fossil store. Look at some other places as well, but just didn't find a whole lot.

I interviewed with Enterprise Rent-A-Car again, I think it well. I haven't heard from them in a while, figured I'd call them sometime next week to see if they have anything to offer. Lately I haven't been feeling that excited about it. Long hours, low pay, and standing at a counter all day really doesn't really appeal to me. The whole promote from within, increased salary, and benefits do appeal, considering within my first year I could potentially double my salary. It's confusing trying to figure out my life. Lets wait and see how it goes.

All in all the last few weeks have been alright, nothing too exciting. We're both looking forward to looking at the homes next week. Hopefully we'll be able to get the whole bank mortgage thing taken care of so if were impressed and want to make an offer we could do so knowing that we have the backing we'd need.
