You want me to do what now?
So, there has been an R.I.P. (Rapid Improvement Process) Week in the planning now for some time. My supervisor told me that it probably wouldn't affect me at all on 3rd shift. However, this would require me to pull two of my primary operators off of the two most constrained presses in the entire corporation and bring them to days. This is a much harder task then you think... Let me explain. Over the last 4 years they've known that the only back-up operator wanted out of the deptartment. Shortly after I started, that opportunity arose for him to get another position else where in the plant. That means, that I have no back ups. I did manage, however, to convince someone to start training on the 527, one of the two presses. Now, as for the 627, the other press, I have someone from 1st coming in 4 hours early to run it half the night. Second shift wasn't so eager to stay late. That and I am getting the old back-up operator Friday night to cover the press for the entire night. Crazy times I tell you.
Okay, now back to my "You want me to do what now?" Friday morning (at about 8am), the end of my shift, my supervisor called me in to discuss me going to days for the entirety of the week. Since Monday, I've been averaging between 10-12 hours a day. My sister has worked over 70 hours a week before, this is driving me nuts, I don't know how she does this.
It's 10:15, I'm beat, worn out, tired, ect... I would stick around and say more, but I just don't have the energy. Thank God Sarah isn't in town this week. She's in a convention in Ohio. I am just not that functional this week. I'll try and update everyone this weekend. When I'll hopefully have more time.
