WHOA... WHAT?!?
Monday August 2nd, Sarah and I decided to perform a home pregnancy test... Since I've been on third if I have to get up in-between sleep patterns I act rather strange. Well, while Sarah was taking the test I was walking around the hall asking why the generators weren't' running and why the presses were down. Obviously I was partially out of it, to say the least, and don't really remember it up until the point Sarah showed me a very positive pregnancy test. We know how it happened, but we don't know when or where. To tell you the truth we were planning on waiting a while longer and thought that were being cautious enough to not have to worry about a pregnancy so soon following the miscarriage. So, we're back to where we were, but this pregnancy seems to be going along just fine. All of Sarah's levels that lacked in the first pregnancy are sky-rocketing during this one. Which means that everything seems to be well.
I am adjusting to third shift work. The people that I have working under me are fully capable of doing their jobs without me having telling them what to do on a constant basis, which is nice. The one complaint about being on third is that I am getting used to not having Sarah in bed with me when I get there. Weekends are tough to get back on a normal sleep schedule and have to revert Sunday night. Sleep is extremely important, I think that so far I've been doing a good job keeping up with it. I'm finally starting to get more responsibility at work. I've been assigned two special projects that I have to gain better understanding of, analyze and then present findings on... The only thing is, is that I don't know when I have to present these findings. Oh well, I guess I'll figure that out later. Shouldn't be too bad working on these projects. My night schedule consists of only about 6 hours of actual work with another 2-3 hrs of trying to occupy my time doing something productive.
A couple weekends ago Sarah and I drove to Arkansas to meet up with some friends of ours and go camping out in the wonderful wilderness. It was an average of 90 degrees the entire time while there (we were sleeping in tents). We stayed along the Buffalo River area in the Ozarks. We headed out on Thursday morning about 9am, got there about 2:30-3ish. Set-up camp and relaxed for the rest of the day. Friday we woke up to a monsoon of a storm. We found out that our new tent wasn't factory sealed with a silicone sealant. It felt like I was in a Japanese Torcher chamber with water dripping on me. Finally decided to cover up with the blanket, which was pretty wet by the time the rain stopped. When the thunder and lightening subsided we sat outside, ate breakfast and and sweat our asses off. We decided to go and rent out some innertubes and float down the river which had an average depth of 2 feet due to the dry spell. The storm and the 3 inches of rain that came with it in less than an hour didn't affect the river level at all either. We decided to tube the 4.2 mile stretch which ended up being a 1.5 mile hike and a 2.7 mile dead float. We had to kick our feet and swim because the current was non-existent, that and there were some areas that were less than 2inches deep and the current in those areas was so spread out that it couldn't push our tubes through. While it wasn't the best of conditions (it still rained on us occasionally while floating down river) it was still a blast. There were heavy clouds which kept us protected from the sun and the rain helped cool us off. Saturday was by far the hottest day of all. When we got up we were fighting the sun trying to stay in the shade. We went swimming all day. This was one of those days that no clouds peppered the sky, it was humid and almost a 100 degrees. Sunday we packed up and headed out pretty early in the morning and headed back to Topeka. All in all it was a pretty good trip. We got back to Topeka about 4 and then ate. I went to bed and then went to work about 10:15.
T-Town is finally getting some rain. Not much, but every little bit helps. I haven't mowed the lawn in 6 weeks because it has been so dry and hot out that it has all but gone dormant or died. Hopefully we'll be getting some more rain over the next couple of days.
Tomorrow Sarah and I are hitting the road again to head back to Sioux City, IA for yet another wedding. This one is Friday night, which means that I probably won't have any time to rest up before going to it. Oh well, this will give me an opportunity to drink some alcohol. Finding time while on 3rd shift is hard to come by. I cherish my weekends to lush a little. Not that I am an alcoholic or anything. I just miss having the time to drink a beer or two here and there.
Anyway, dinner is ready and I'm starving, while on 3rd I've only been eating 2 meals a day. Basically lunch and dinner. Occasionally I'll grab breakfast at the plant in the morning if time permits, otherwise I do without breakfast. I miss it sometimes... I miss it much more than alcohol. Sarah has agreed to cook breakfast items for dinner a couple of times since I've been on 3rd, which has been nice. But, yea... I'm gonna go and eat, all this food talk is making me hungry. Take it easy everyone. I'll keep in touch.

So um...what hours do you work? Trust me I know how it sucks to readjust but if you don't go through this hell now you'll have to go through it later.
Congrats on the baby
